Helping us through the issues that we face
Neurodiversity-affirming psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on an individual's unique strengths and abilities. It helps neurodiverse individuals recognise and amplify their positive attributes as well as acknowledging the challenges that being neurodiverse can present.
To be neurodiversity-affirming is to believe every person is equally worthy and valuable. Neurological differences in how we think, feel, behave, and relate to others is what makes each of us unique and human.
Neurodiversity-affirming therapy is not a specific school of therapy or method. It is a way of supporting mental health that recognises and values the uniqueness of our perspectives and honours our life experience alongside our condition. It is a value system and commitment held by our therapists.
We understand that many people living with neurodiversity have experienced trauma. In a world that caters to the neurotypical population, often neurodiverse people's needs are not met or even seen.
We have specialised trauma therapists who can help you cope with the fall out of negative experiences and any symptoms that may have arisen as a consequence.
